About Khor Virap
Khor Virap is one of Armenia's most revered monasteries and one of the country's most recognizable landmarks. According to tradition, Saint Gregory the Illuminator was imprisoned here for thirteen years before converting King Tiridates III to Christianity, making Armenia the world's first Christian nation in AD 301.
